A talk with the filmmaker: Jazzman's Cafe Mug incentive

Hello everyone,

Welcome to the first post in a series of posts where we feature a video made my Champlain College students. There will also be some comments from one (or more) of the people who made the video to add some more info. This week, we are featuring a short video on Jazzman's Cafe mug incentive program. The programs allows people to buy reusable mugs then be able to refill the mugs for much cheaper.
I had the chance to catch up Ryan Penk, one of the creators of the video. The video was the mid-term project for the Contemporary Media Issues class. Ryan was telling me that the program wasn't very well advertised so he was able to learn about the program while making the video. The importance of creating programs that reduce Champlain Colleges carbon footprint isn't lost on Ryan. He mentioned to me "since sustainability is such an important thing to work towards, we should continue to make new programs and advertise them as best we can." I don't think I could have said it better myself. Since Ryan isn't in a video related major, he didn't realize all of the effort that goes into making a video. All of these are valuable lessons.

Have a good weekend,
Scott Miley
